The 2007 RD Annual Publication of the Year Team Award
The RDS Team distinguished themselves as part of the Optic Division,
Directed Energy Directorate, Air Force Research Laboratory, Kirtland
Air Force Base, NM, from 1 January to 31 December 2007. During this
period, the RDS Team authored a publication on Quantum Cryptography that
can provide future secure communication of civilian and military
information. Their paper was solicited by the Applied Optics editor for a
special issue of Applied Optics to commemorate Emmett Leith, one of the
founders of modern holography. Dr. William Rhoades, Director of the Imaging
Technology Center of Florida Atlantic University, commended the team for
providing a analytic pre-condition to a single phase SLM to recover the
complex wave in the first diffracted order. The distinctive accomplishments
of the RDS Team reflect great credit upon themselves and the United States
Air Force.
