Florida Atlantic University was the proud host of the 2nd Annual Gulf Coast Gravity Meeting, held on March 17-18, 2006 at our campus in Boca Raton, Florida.

Attendants

The Gulf Coast Gravity Meetings are intended to foster the integration and interaction of the local research groups working in Gravitation and have the traditional format of regional gatherings such as the East Coast, Midwest and Pacific Coast meetings: there is no registration fee, everybody gets to give an oral presentation (students are specially encouraged to attend) and the time alloted is the same for every speaker (15 min. plus 5 min. for questions).

The students compete for the Blue Apple Award, sponsored by the APS - Topical Group of Gravitation. This year's winner was Larry Price from University of Florida for the talk entitled Towards Metric Perturbations of Kerr.

Some of our participants have courageously volunteered to organize the upcoming editions of the Gulf Coast Meeting. The tentative schedule is:

            2007 - University of Alabama - Huntsville
2008 - The University of Mississippi
            2009 - Louisiana State University

Our many thanks to all the participants who made this Meeting possible!
